Bianca William’s story (Olympian & Commonwealth Games Bronze Medallist)

Bianca William’s story (Olympian & Commonwealth Games Bronze Medallist)

Being a new mum this past year has been amazing but also very hard.

I gave birth to my first child Zuri in March last year. He was actually born on Mother’s Day which was one of the best days.

Having a baby during a pandemic was so wild. We didn’t have the usual welcome home with our friends and family because there was a national lockdown. I didn’t know what to expect as a new mother but I didn’t think that I’d be confined to my house and only supposed to go out to the supermarket and for daily exercise.

But I got to bond with Zuri and that was amazing, I was able to do things my way without others telling me how to do it.

Nearly a year on and it’s been the best year of my life.  Zuri is such an amazing boy and is constantly happy. He is literally my everything.  It’s crazy how fast the year has gone and especially in the crazy year we have all had, my son is now turning 1 on the 22nd of March and it makes me so proud to watch him grow into a cheeky little boy.
