Give a Story this Christmas

Give a Story this Christmas

The Season for Giving

We all know Christmas is the busiest time of year for parents as we make sure the magic happens, but for mums who are living in poverty Christmas can feel very different. For these women, small comforts can make a big difference.

That’s why we’re putting together carefully curated care packages for mums in need. And with our passion for child literacy, it makes sense that we’re including early years books as well.

Of course, giving is something we do all year round at Mum & You. We regularly support mums in need by donating a pack of our eco-nappies to The Hygiene Bank for every nappy subscription sold, but this Christmas we want to do even more.

We’re proud to be working with The Hygiene Bank and ICAN to distribute 100 Mum & You care packages so we can support vulnerable families. Each package contains enough nappies for Christmas Day, a pack of our biodegradeable wipes, a Mum & You toiletry item for baby and a toiletry item for mum and, of course, a children’s story book, meaning that even mums who are facing the toughest circumstances can still give a Christmas Day gift to their child.

Help us help mums

We’re sure you’ll agree story time snuggles offer precious moments for parents and little ones alike, but we need your help to make sure we can include a book in every single care package.

Donate

To do this we’re asking our customers to add a £2 donation to our ‘Give A Story’ book fund when you purchase from Mum & You online - all you have to do is follow the donation prompts at checkout.

Or Compete!

Alternatively (or additionally – go on, go wild – do both!) you can take part in our  Christmas Storytelling Competition to win a month’s subscription of Mum & You nappies. To enter simply write a story-starting sentence (80 words max) to accompany our festive-themed Nappychat illustrations which you can find on our Facebook and Instagram pages. For every entry received we’ll donate £1 to our book fund*.

If you’re not familiar already, our Nappychat characters are the cute cartoons that are printed on all our eco-nappies. Each character has a name and a ready-made personality to inspire impromptu storytelling so that even nappy changes can be a chance for extra special bonding.

So, go on, help us spread the love this Christmas. Because if anyone needs extra acknowledgement, help and support at this time of year… it’s mums.

*Full competition terms and conditions can be found here.
