    • Ingredients: 1 small sweet potato, 1 apple (peeled and diced), a dash of nutmeg (optional).
    • Instructions: Steam or boil the sweet potato until soft, then mash it with the diced apple. Add a dash of nutmeg for extra autumn flavor. This mash is rich in vitamins and antioxidants.

Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor. Let it cool before serving. Nice added to yoghurt, porridge, as dip for toast, served with pork or frozen in moulds to make lollies for teething little ones.

For older babies and toddlers

  1. Mini Pumpkin Pancakes:
    • Ingredients: 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, 1/2 cup milk, 1 egg, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg, 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional, over 1 year olds only), cooking oil for the pan.
    • Instructions: Mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil. Pour small amounts of batter onto the griddle to make mini pancakes. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown.
  2. Apple and Cheddar Quesadillas:
    • Ingredients: Whole wheat tortillas, thinly sliced apples, shredded cheddar cheese.
