Meet the team – Natasha

Hello. My name is Natasha Kaplinsky and if you think you have seen me before, you might have! For many (many) years I have been a news anchor, a television presenter, and a Strictly Come Dancing contestant…with a glitter ball to prove it.

More recently, I co-founded M&Y and really enjoy being part of a team that works so hard to make life easier for mums. My official title is Chief Creative Officer, but if you ask anyone on the team what I do at the company – they will tell you that I just meddle in everyone else’s business!

I co-founded M&Y because becoming a mother is the best thing that has ever happened to me. It has been a while since I changed Arlo or Angelica’s nappies but the experience of motherhood is so superior to anything else I have achieved in my career that I am thrilled to be part of a company that makes, what can at times be quite a challenging job, that bit easier for mums and dads up and down the country.

As an Ambassador for Save the Children for approaching a decade, I have travelled the world and visited some of the most deprived and uncomfortable places to be a mother – and a baby. During my visits to refugee camps, to slums and to rural areas, I was struck by the mothers I met – and very quickly realised that no matter your surroundings – whether you live on the streets, in a mud hut, in a swanky apartment or in a farmhouse, a mother’s love is universal and lack of opportunity certainly doesn’t mean you love your offspring any less.

M&Y has purpose at its core – a simple desire to help those less fortunate than ourselves, and a drive to give every child, rich or poor, the best start in life.  It gives me huge comfort and a great deal of pride to know that every single product we sell helps another mum.

Natasha’s favourite product: It has to be our biodegradable wipes! I think a lot of people assume baby wipes stop getting used as your children get older, but with a busy household, two children and 47 pets on our farm, we constantly need a pack to hand!
