Packing hacks and tips

Gone are the days of planning weeks deciding what we’re taking on holiday and leisurely packing it over several days. We now how to think about how to cram all of our families clothes into a couple of bags, as well as nappies, wipes and all the other stuff babies need! So here’s our top 3 packing tips for your next holiday.

  1. Shoe storage hack – starting with our fave. This tip went viral when shared by Ferne McCann on Instagram. Get an over the door shoe storage bag and use each pocket for one whole outfit. Take a vest, pop a nappy on top, then outfit including socks, hair bands and anything else you may need, and roll it up into a sausage shape. Pop it inside one of the shoe pockets and fill it up with all your child’s outfits. Then simply roll/fold the bag into your suitcase and when you arrive on holiday you just hang it up on the door! Genius!
  • 2. Packing cubes – a total game changer for packing a lot of clothes into a small space, especially bulky adult clothes. Get a few different colours or label them so you know which ones belong to who so its uneasy to unpack. Roll your clothes as a complete outfit as above, including a nappy for the baby. Storage cubes make it easy to easily mix each person’s clothes across cases so that if you loose a case, you will have something for everyone in your other cases. They are also great for separating things in your hand luggage. We take 2 outfits for each person plus one swimwear in our hang luggage just incase of lost luggage to cover us for a few days. Then use other cubes to separate snacks or toys so things are easy to find. Finally use the cubes to pack dirty clothes and keep it separate from anything you don’t wear when travelling home
  • 3. Ziplock bags – take out nappies from the packaging, pop into a ziplock bag and squeeze out the area before locking to compress them. You can also do this with packs of baby wipes. Distribute them across cases incase any get lost. You can also do this with packing cubes but they won’t compress as well.

We hope these tips make your holiday a tad easier. Happy travelling!
